My shop is my home. I have a small wood shop set up in our backyard where I cut, sand, glue, nail and stain all my projects. Most of the painting is done on my back porch (weather permitting and/or the misquito's are not sucking all my blood) or in my house, but I do prefer the outdoors.
My business started when my husband made the statement "you have got to quit making these signs or start selling and giving them away". Yes, my house is full of things I have made, not only signs. I have signs on the walls and tables but I also have a kitchen island I made out of pallet wood, a shelving system behind the kitchen door also made out of pallet wood and a bar outside, and yes you are correct if you guessed made out of pallet wood.
About a year or two ago my husband brought home a pallet, he didn't have time to drop it off anywhere between jobs. I proceeded to tear the pallet apart and decide I would make a simple wooden sign with our name on it. That is where it all started! I was hooked and realized how much I enjoyed working with my hands.
I am an accountant by profession but my true love is being creative and painting. Being an accountant can be a very stressful and over-whelming job (especially during tax season) and painting is a great stress reliever for me.
My hope is to begin posting blogs and instructions on painting wooden signs and creating some wonderful wooden items for your home and outdoor living.
Check back often as I will continue adding to my site!
